The capital city (Male) is located on a separate island from the airport island. Using a small (local ferry) called “dhoni” transversely to the capital, which takes approximately 15 minutes, to depart from the airport to Male. These Ferris’s come every 15 minutes. Dhoni charge Rufiyaa for a one-way crossing and take both USD ($1 / person) and local currency just in situation you haven't changed currency at the airport. Taxis are usually accessible at the jetty of your arrival and will cost a flat fee of 20 Rufiyaa / trip.
